Trip Notes - Security

Tourists and their cameras are particularly attractive targets for thieves just about everywhere. By taking sensible pre-cautions and staying alert you should be able to access your camera quickly and easily and still retain possession.

- Camera and films should be carried onto the planes as hand lugguage on the way to your destination. Even if your cloth don't make it, at least you can take photos

- Carry the camera bags across your body not on your shoulder. It's harder to snatch.

- If travelling on an overnight sleeper trains use the bags as a pillow, perhaps under a jacket.

- Never leave equipment, and especially exposed film, in an unattended car.

- Never put your camera on overhead racks on train, boats, or buses. Never have them out of your sight.

- Never put your films in check-in lugguage.
