Notes - Local Culture |
| Different
countries have their own unique culture, it would be benefitial for
any photographer to understand some of these culture before starting
out on a photography trip |
|

| Cultural
and Religious Ceremonies |
| In
most countries religious ceremonies are consider sacred. For example
most native American cultural and religious ceremonies require special
permission to attend or, in some cases, may not allow visitors at
all. In some tribes a host family will extend a personal invitation
to visitors and inform them of the correct protocol. All the tribes
hold their religion and traditions in high regard. Sacred rites must
not be defiled; artifacts are not to be removed or disturbed. It should
always be kept in mind that the dance area is sacred. Flash photography
is not allowed during contests, and it is polite to ask dancers and
singers before taking pictures. |

| Paying
to Shoot |

Some
street performers would ask for a token sum if you wish to take
pictures of them while they perform. Likely to find them in Europe
and North America.
